Aaron Vaughn Barrera, a Texas native, moved to New York from Austin in 2011 to pursue a career in fashion retail. In 2012 he purchased his first sewing machine and taught himself to sew. His first projects were mainly simple totes and other bags. After several years and several different management jobs for high end retailers he landed high level management positions at CC Filson and The Frye Company's flagship store in Soho. There is where he realized his passion for leatherwork. After acquiring some sample pieces of leather from his corporate office that were going to be discarded, he started working on small accessories like wallets and coffee cup sleeves. From there he moved on to leather totes and portfolios. Aaron now has his own studio in New York where he works on projects in his spare time. While his work is quickly catching on, the waitlist is now stacking up. Aaron puts his heart and soul into each piece of custom leather work. He hopes you enjoy it as much as he enjoyed making it.
